About the Museum

Looking for fun things to do with kids? Look no further! Buckeye Imagination Museum is the perfect place for kids and families to experience hands-on play. Situated halfway between Cleveland and Columbus, the museum offers endless opportunities for imagination, learning, and play for schools and families with children ages 2-10. Our exhibits are specially designed to promote early childhood development and support families and children as they learn and discover together through the power of play.

Downtown Mansfield

Parking can be found in front of Buckeye Imagination Museum at 175 West Third Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44902. There is no cost to park. Customers may also park at the Renaissance Theatre parking lot next door during the museum’s regular business hours for free. Find additional free city parking here.

Adults may be escorted by staff through a tour of the museum before the purchase of admission. Adults will not be permitted to purchase admission if they do not have children with them. The museum is weapon and smoke free.

Buckeye Imagination Museum is typically the least busy on weekday afternoons.

Guests may use our parking lot on West Third Street in front of our main entrance for free. Overflow parking is available at the Renaissance Theatre next door. Additional parking options include the FREE Municipal Lot across from Richland Carrousel Park or on-street parking at meters throughout the downtown Mansfield area.

Yes, you can bring a lunch. Outside food is welcome. We ask that all food and drink stay in the designated eating area in the lobby of the museum. Eating and drinking in our exhibit areas is not permitted. Tables are first-come, first-served and may not be held for the entire day. Tables may be reserved for private groups and parties. Yes, we sell a small variety of snacks and refreshments such as crackers, coffee, and juice boxes. We do not sell bottled water, as part of our environmentally friendly initiative; however, water fountains are available for free.

Yes, you can bring a stroller; however, stroller parking space is limited. You may find that children don’t stay in their strollers for long here!

Youth under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

We do not offer public wi-fi at this time. Our policy requires adults supervise their child’s behavior at all times and encourages them to engage with their child and have fun.

Due to COVID-19, we ask that visitors only bring essential items such as coats into the museum with them. Coat racks will be available first-come, first-served on a one-per-household basis. We cannot hold things for you behind the front desk. Any items left laying around the museum will be turned into Lost & Found.

Yes, you may leave and come back in the same day. Just be sure to get a stamp from the front desk before you leave, so you don’t have to pay to re-enter.

Our team at Buckeye Imagination Museum carefully monitors museum facilities around the clock. We work hard to ensure children enjoy play time in a safe and clean environment and, in return, expect parents/guardians and caregivers, including teachers, to screen their children’s/students’ health responsibly before visiting Buckeye Imagination Museum, in addition to monitoring their play responsibly during their visit.

If a child or adult is too sick to attend school or work, they are too sick to visit Buckeye Imagination Museum. In order to provide a healthy and enjoyable environment for all museum guests, and in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Association of Children’s Museums, we ask that you refrain from visiting if you or your child have or display any of the following symptoms:

  • Flu-like symptoms (e.g., headache, high fever, chills, lethargy, muscle aches, cough, sore throat)
  • Upper respiratory infections (e.g., cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, scratchy throat, painful swallowing, watery eyes – with or without fever)
  • Severe cold with sinus drainage
  • Fever (in excess of 100.4 degrees)
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Rash of unknown origin
  • Strep throat (child must be on antibiotics for 24 hours before coming to the museum)
  • Pink eye (conjunctivitis)
  • Impetigo (infectious skin disease)
  • Ringworm
  • Lice
  • Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease
  • Scabies
  • Any of the following childhood diseases: measles, mumps, rubella, roseola, chicken pox, fifth’s disease, pertussis (whooping cough), croup, or any other transmittable disease.

Potentially sick guests will be addressed in a respectful manner but may be asked to come back and visit Buckeye Imagination Museum at a future date, based on observation of the above illnesses/symptoms, at the discretion of Buckeye Imagination Museum team members. In addition, organized groups are required to provide signed confirmation that they understand the Buckeye Imagination Museum Sick Guest Policy and will assist us in its implementation.
